Lead Glass / X-Ray Protective Glass

With advanced manufacturing innovations and European standard technologies integrated with materials that block X-ray radiation during production, Lead Glass is a special kind of glass that can protect against and attenuate X-ray radiation.
Lead Glass / X-Ray Protective Glass
- Designed to be transparent with a slight yellow hue, helping to protect and reduce X-ray intensity.
- Glass thickness: 10 ± 0.5 mm
- Radiation protection performance: lead equivalent 2.77 mm Pb
- Lead equivalent certified: 2.24 mm Pb tested at 150 kVp, per test reports from Department of Medical Sciences
- Largest producible size: 120 × 240 cm; standard size is 100 × 200 cm
Frame / Mounting for Lead Glass
The lead glass frame consists of two main parts and must be manufactured by experts in radiation shielding:
- Frame Material: Powder-coated aluminum, 1.2 mm thick. The frame is lined on all sides with radiation shielding material of at least 2 mm thickness (forming a “U” overlap design).
- Glass Backing Frame: Made from laminated wood (white finish) for aesthetics, and internally lined with lead at least 2 mm thick all around.
Maintenance / Care
- Wipe with a damp cloth
- Avoid using chemical glass cleaners
- Maximum size: 120 cm by 240 cm for leaded glass
Application Recommendations (for Different Rooms)
| Glass Thickness | Standard Room Use |
| 10 mm | Suitable sizes: 100×200, 100×150, or 60×60 for general X-ray rooms |
| 10 mm | Also used in CT SCAN rooms |
